As much as people convince me that I’m not old, unfortunately, my mind can’t simply accept it, because I’m not getting any younger — and that’s a fact.
Fine lines on my forehead, streaks of grey hair, cracking sounds from my knees and lower back — ugh, the signs are just too obvious to deny.
Thankfully, I find clarity in growing older.
I love how confident and calm I have become when facing uncertainties.
I admire my values and life principles.
I am amazed at how I build and establish boundaries in any kind of relationship.
I am proud of how I carry myself, inside and outside the home.
I salute myself for saying no and dismissing something that doesn’t sit well with my feelings and principles.
I love how I appreciate and champion all my small wins more often.
I am smarter in managing my emotions and psychology.
It’s true what people say, “older and wiser.” I can feel it.
So, enjoy the present, because you won’t live here forever.
Here’s to many more, Mas. Hugs and kisses accompanied you all along.
